Security Screen Maintenance and Cleaning

Security screens are built to last, but dust, pollen, rain and salt all leave their mark. A little care keeps them looking good and working properly.

Why bother?

  • The screens keep their looks.
  • You see through them more clearly.
  • Small problems are caught before they become big ones.

What to check

Every so often, look over each screen for:

  • Any damage to the mesh.
  • Loose or missing screws.
  • Marks or corrosion on metal parts.
  • A frame that looks bent or out of line.
  • On sliding doors, grit in the track.

How to clean your screens

  1. BrushUse a soft brush to remove loose dust and debris.
  2. WashMix a mild, soapy solution and clean the screen gently with a soft cloth or sponge.
  3. RinseRinse well with clean water and let the screen dry.

Harsh cleaning products can damage the finish. Stick to mild, non-abrasive ones.

How often?

It depends on where you live. Homes near the ocean collect salt and need washing more often than homes inland. Ask Roman what he recommends for your home.

When to call us

If you spot damage, a lock that sticks, or a door that no longer closes cleanly, get in touch. It is easier to put right early.
